OUR STORY

Maria Sole Ferragamo founded SO-LE STUDIO with the mission to transform leftover materials such as leather and brass into unique sculptural jewellery. Since 2019 its creative HQ sits in Milan, while the production remains in Tuscany.

Maria Sole works with the materials she finds and sees strength in scarcity. She transforms these into unique wearable design objects, naturally limited in numbers. SO-LE STUDIO releases two main collections per year featuring new designs while the most iconic ones are constantly reinterpreted with new shades and finishing.

SO-LE STUDIO’s signature style is statement jewellery pieces that play with illusion and contrast: they appear to be voluminous and heavy and made of precious metal, while the leather they’re created from makes them unexpectedly light, practical and comfortable.

Keywords to the portraiture of SO-LE STUDIO are longevity, dynamism, versatility, lightness and a sense of provocation.

SO-LE STUDIO has been featured in the New York Times, Wallpaper, AD, British, Italian and German Vogue, M le Monde, Mme Figaro, FT HTSI, Telegraph, Harper’s Bazaar, NZZ, WWD, and Il Corriere della Sera amongst others.

In December 2022, SO-LE STUDIO opened its first boutique in Milan, on Via Sant ‘Andrea 10, as part of Portrait Milano’s new destination: Piazza del Quadrilatero.

Designed by Milan-based architectural practice FONDAMENTA, the flagship is a jewellery store and an experiential space embodying the guiding principles of SO-LE STUDIO: illusion, mobility, playfulness, and a love for organic and architectural shapes.

In September 2022, Maria Sole Ferragamo was asked by Sotheby’s to guest-curate the live and online auction series The Luxury Edit, spanning London, Paris, Milan and New York.

Previously, SO-LE STUDIO presented work with the Elisabetta Cipriani Gallery at Art Basel, MiArt and PAD London. Her creations were also included in the Museo Poldi Pezzoli in Milan (2020) and Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence (2019-20). In 2021, SO-LE STUDIO is asked to exhibit works at Rossana Orlandi gallery in Milano and Sardinia.
