Vìen Atelier
This collaboration focuses on one design, a re-interpretation of the Elizabethan ruff made entirely of high quality upcycled leather.
Conceived as wearable architecture it is a unique piece that becomes a polyfunctional item that can be worn on the head, on the shoulders and on the neck.
In Vien’s SS2020 collection this accessory becomes a mask, where the wearer focuses on watching the world through the cuts without being seen.
Looking at these images the first impression is that it is a situation of constraint but the leather, processed in a way that makes it malleable, becomes a superstructure, an armour that gives a sense of protection and strength.
