A Matter of Perspective: What Do You See?
Forget what you know, and let yourself be surprised. Sometimes, things are not what they seem.
Stella Stone’s works delve into the exploration of perception. Her creative process begins with something seemingly simple: photographing light. But she takes it much further, manipulating these images by distorting and altering them to the point where they no longer resemble anything tangible. Through this process, she transforms light into something unrecognizable - an illusion that challenges our understanding of reality, altering the way we see and feel.
Similarly, SO-LE STUDIO redefines material perception. The jewelry designed by Maria Sole Ferragamo defies expectations through its unique interplay of preciousness, volume, and weight. What appears to be heavy metal is actually lightweight leather; what seems rigid is remarkably soft; what looks imposing is, in reality, practical and wearable. These wearable sculptures are not quite what they seem until you experience them firsthand.
The beauty of the collaboration between Stella Stone and Maria Sole Ferragamo lies in the idea that one is never quite sure what they are seeing. Together, their work alters perception, blurring the lines between what seems to be and what truly is. This shared exploration of illusion and discovery invites us all to see the world in a new light.

MARIA SOLE FERRAGAMO:
Maria Sole Ferragamo earned a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and a Master’s in Jewellery Design from Central Saint Martins in London. In 2019, she founded SO-LE STUDIO with the mission of reclaiming and transforming high-quality materials, such as leather and brass, into unique jewelry pieces and wearable sculptures.
SO-LE STUDIO’s distinctive style is expressed through impactful jewelry that plays with illusion and contrast: they appear voluminous and heavy, as if crafted from precious metals, but the leather they are made from makes them unexpectedly lightweight, practical, and comfortable. Key words that define SO-LE STUDIO are longevity, dynamism, versatility, lightness, and a sense of provocation.
Maria Sole Ferragamo works at the intersection of leather craftsmanship, jewelry design, architecture, and visual arts.
