—Beetle Brooch Blue
The first brooch created by Maria Sole; Beetle is inspired after Salvatore Ferragamo’s iconic woven sandal pattern designed around 1936-1938. The shoe top was made with a beautiful red and gold woven goatskin pattern.
“I’ve been wanting to create a brooch for a long time. I love the idea of the object itself, it’s slightly old fashion but can also be incredibly contemporary when combining interesting volumes and patterns. It really plays a key role in adding the final touch to an outfit!”, Maria Sole Ferragamo.
Beetle uses the same pattern as Sole’s grandfather shoe, juxtaposing contrasting textures and colours of leather strips to create a vibrant pattern. The leather strips stretched over a voluminous 3D shape become a stone, yet extra light, respecting the principle of lightness and comfort of SO-LE STUDIO. It comes in 3 colour variations and attaches to the back of any garment thanks to a clever magnet system, avoiding any damage.
